Privacy Policy

NeuraPoster is operated by neuraposter llc, Freienbach, Switzerland.

If you have privacy-related questions or want to exercise your data protection rights, you can contact us at privacy [at] neuraposter [dot] com.

This Privacy Policy explains how NeuraPoster processes personal data in connection with the NeuraPoster app and the NeuraPoster website. It is intended to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Swiss data protection law.

1. Who is responsible for data processing

The controller responsible for the processing described in this Privacy Policy is:

Neuraposter llc
Kantonsstrasse 56
8870 Freienbach
Switzerland

Privacy contact: privacy [at] neuraposter [dot] com

2. Core privacy approach

NeuraPoster is designed around a data-minimizing approach.

By default, selected photos are analyzed with Gemini 2.5 Flash to create an image description for caption generation. NeuraPoster does not store or retain your photos on NeuraPoster servers as product content.

NeuraPoster also does not store generated captions or caption history on its own servers as product content.

3. App distribution, purchases, and user accounts

NeuraPoster is distributed through the Apple App Store. All purchases, subscriptions, consumables, and other in-app transactions are processed by Apple through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple acts as the payment processor and merchant of record for those transactions.

Separately from Apple’s transaction handling, NeuraPoster uses a user account based on email and password. This account is used so users can sign in again, recover access after losing a device, and restore app access on a replacement or newly installed device.

4. What data we process

Depending on how you use the app or website, we may process the following categories of personal data.

a) Account and authentication data

When you register and use NeuraPoster, we process account-related data needed to authenticate you and keep your access working, including your email address and related authentication data.

b) Service operation data

We process limited service operation data needed to run the app, maintain stability, support account access, and manage entitlements or app access states where relevant.

c) Analytics data

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app and website are used, improve features, monitor performance, and improve reliability.

d) Diagnostic, security, and anti-abuse data

We may process technical logs and related information needed to detect failures, prevent abuse or fraud, protect service integrity, and secure the app and website.

e) AI generation input data

To generate captions, NeuraPoster sends a prompt to Gemini 2.5 Flash that may include:

  • an image description generated through Gemini 2.5 Flash by default
  • context ideas
  • an instruction about the requested writing style

NeuraPoster does not store uploaded photos on its own servers as product content, even when selected images are analyzed with Gemini 2.5 Flash, and does not store generated captions server-side as product content.

5. How caption generation works

By default, media analysis is performed with Gemini 2.5 Flash. NeuraPoster may send the selected image to Gemini 2.5 Flash so Gemini 2.5 Flash can analyze the image and help generate caption-relevant description, context, and style signals.

6. What we do not store as product content

NeuraPoster does not store the following on its own servers as product content:

  • uploaded photos
  • generated captions
  • caption history

If caption history is available within the app, it is kept on-device rather than synced by NeuraPoster.

7. Why we process personal data

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • to create and manage accounts
  • to authenticate users and maintain access
  • to help users recover access after device loss or reinstallation
  • to restore app access and entitlements
  • to provide caption generation and related app functionality
  • to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the app and website
  • to analyze usage and reliability
  • to prevent abuse, misuse, fraud, and technical failures
  • to respond to support and privacy requests
  • to comply with legal obligations where applicable

Depending on the situation, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • performance of a contract, including providing and maintaining the app
  • legitimate interests, including operating, securing, improving, and defending the service
  • consent, where consent is required by applicable law
  • compliance with legal obligations, where applicable

9. Service providers and recipients

We may share personal data with service providers where necessary to operate NeuraPoster.

These may include providers supporting:

  • authentication and account infrastructure
  • database and service infrastructure
  • analytics
  • AI processing
  • app distribution and payment processing

Based on the current setup, this may include:

  • Google / Firebase
  • Gemini 2.5 Flash
  • Apple

Apple handles App Store distribution, billing, receipts, and in-app transaction processing. NeuraPoster receives only the information needed to confirm access, entitlements, or account-related app functionality, not full payment card details.

10. Analytics and diagnostics

NeuraPoster uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand feature usage, app and website performance, and product quality. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

We may also process technical diagnostic information, logs, and reliability-related data to troubleshoot errors, improve stability, and protect the service.

11. iOS permissions

Depending on the features you use, NeuraPoster may request the following iOS permissions:

  • Photos, to let you select an image you want to caption and have analyzed with Gemini 2.5 Flash by default
  • Camera, to let you take a photo in-app that may be analyzed with Gemini 2.5 Flash by default
  • Notifications, to let you receive optional reminders or posting nudges

12. Payments and subscriptions

Paid features, subscriptions, consumables, and other in-app purchases are sold via Apple In-App Purchase. Apple is the merchant of record and payment processor for those user transactions. Refunds, billing controls, and subscription management are generally handled through Apple under Apple’s rules and interfaces.

13. Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose, legal requirements, or legitimate security and operational needs.

Our current retention approach is as follows:

  • account data: until deleted by the user or by NeuraPoster in accordance with service rules
  • deleted-account related retained data: up to 183 days after deletion trigger where necessary for fraud prevention, abuse prevention, service security, or legal defense
  • logs: up to 6 months
  • fraud- and abuse-prevention data: up to 6 months
  • diagnostic or crash-related technical data: up to 6 months
  • support emails or support tickets: typically up to 1 month, unless longer retention is necessary for legal, dispute-related, or security reasons

Where data is no longer needed, we delete it, anonymize it, or retain only what is necessary under applicable law or for legitimate security purposes.

14. Account deletion and user controls

Users can initiate account deletion directly in the app by going to User Profile and clicking Delete.

After deletion is initiated, account-related data is deleted in accordance with our deletion flow. Certain limited records may remain for up to 183 days where necessary for fraud prevention, abuse prevention, service security, or legal defense.

Users may also contact us at privacy [at] neuraposter [dot] com regarding deletion or other privacy requests.

NeuraPoster also supports on-device user controls, such as deleting generated captions or clearing local history where those features are available. Export is limited because NeuraPoster does not maintain a separate server-side copy of photos as product content, even when selected images are analyzed with Gemini 2.5 Flash by default.

15. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • access your personal data
  • request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • request deletion of your personal data
  • request restriction of processing
  • object to certain processing
  • request data portability where applicable
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority

To exercise your rights, contact privacy [at] neuraposter [dot] com.

16. Children and age requirements

NeuraPoster is not intended for children. It is intended only for users who are legally permitted to use relevant social media platforms under the rules applicable in their country or jurisdiction.

17. International data processing

Some service providers used to operate NeuraPoster may process data outside Switzerland, the European Union, or the European Economic Area.

Where this occurs, such processing is generally carried out under the provider’s contractual, legal, and technical safeguards applicable to international data transfers.

18. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or unlawful alteration.

These measures include encryption in transit such as HTTPS and restricting internal access to production systems to authorized persons who need that access to operate and secure the service.

19. Website analytics

The NeuraPoster website currently uses analytics as part of operating and improving the website. This helps us understand usage, improve content and functionality, and monitor performance.

This website analytics processing is separate from the app’s Gemini 2.5 Flash image-analysis flow.

20. What we do not do

NeuraPoster does not sell personal data.

NeuraPoster does not use cross-app tracking to follow users across other companies’ apps and websites, and does not build ad profiles based on such tracking.

Third-party platforms where users publish content, such as social media platforms, may have their own privacy and tracking practices. Those are outside NeuraPoster’s control.

21. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, operational, or product changes.

The most recent version will always be published on neuraposter.com together with its effective date.
